Every day in March, artist Hong Yi, aka Red, is posting a photo a day on Instagram to promote her daily food art creations that are set on a white plate background. The Malaysian artist believes that creativity is all around us, and for this project, she says, "I hope this inspires you and makes you realize that you can get creative with anything, even with limited tools, and that like a child, you'll see joy and fun even in ordinary, everyday items."
For her Creativity With Food, Red uses every food imaginable, from fruits and veggies to delicious Oreo cookie desserts. Her chickens hang out underneath a bright, yellow "sun" made out of egg yolk, while her Campbell's soup can label is formed out of ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and oyster sauce. She uses some simple kitchen tools, including chopsticks, skewers, and a butter knife, to form the sculptures, proving that you don't need a ton of resources to make creative and inspiring art.
