The owner, 39-year-old George Fontella Brown, was likely stockpiling them to sell to China before the foreign market for used tires crashed, the Times and Democrat of Orangeburg, South Carolina, reported.
'I believe he had all good intentions of shipping the tires out across seas. And he kind of got stuck because they didn't do what they were supposed to do,' Tricia Johnson, whose company, Lee Tire, is beginning to haul away the dump by the truckload, told the newspaper.
