Ingenious Lamps Allow Plants to Grow Indoors without Direct Sunlight or Water

Designers Emilia Lucht and Arne Sebrantke (of Studio We Love Eames) developed a lamp that allows plant lovers to grow greenery anywhere. By using LED lights in place of direct sunlight, the Myrdal Plantlamp is able to create its own self-sustaining ecosystem. This allows the product to mimic the process of photosynthesis, so no water or care is required on our end. If you live or work in a cramped space and want to easily brighten up your area, this is especially helpful. In fact, Emilia and Arne specifically came up with their creation so people who move to cities can bring familiar plants with them indoors.
The Myrdal Plantlamp can also be placed anywhere in your home, thanks to two different designs: one that hangs from the ceiling and another that sits on a flat surface. The standing lamp is actually made of a special glass coating that conducts electricity, so a cable isn't needed to make the lamp function. With these unique features, Studio We Love Eames hopes to add a bit of nature to urban spaces everywhere.
